Round Mountain JV

Round Mountain is located approximately 96 kilometers north of Tonopah in Nye County, Nevada. Barrick has a 50% interest in this gold mine; Kinross Gold Corporation owns the remaining 50% interest and is the operator. 

Round Mountain is a conventional open-pit operation that uses multiple processing methods. These include crushed ore leaching (reusable pad), run-of-mine ore leaching (dedicated pad), milling of higher-grade ore, and the gravity concentration circuit.

In 2007, Barrick’s share of production was 289,000 ounces of gold at average total cash costs of $395 per ounce1. The Company’s share of proven and probable mineral reserves as of December 31, 2007 is estimated at 1.4 million ounces of gold2.
